Double Scoop - Maddie Ponified by =ronaldhennessy
I said I wouldn’t do a ponification again…I lied. You might consider this a “OC Pony”. I don’t because the using this design is not original, it is based on an existing property which doesn’t make it original. However, it is a BASED on an original character. Next time, when you create an “OC”, if you base it from an existing show, video game or something similar its not original. And that’s why the people who run the ocart group have migraines from continuing to reject Kingdom Hearts “OCs” every day.
Enough soapboxing, this pony is based on my creation, Maddie. I’d figure she would be the easiest since she is a filly and has no cutie mark. A combination of sickness and issues with the pen tool made this a lot harder to do. The end result turned out ok since I was aiming for the FIM look, but I probably could have done this faster without vectoring it up. I guess Photoshop is ill suited for a task like this.
I chose the name “Double Scoop” since the human version likes ice cream. The colors represent two things, Sherbet Ice cream (my favorite Ice Cream) and Maddie’s human color palette. She doesn’t have her cutie mark as she is still finding out what she truly is made for, but that may come one day.
More of these ponifications are on the way once I learn to get the hang of the pen tool a bit more.
And some recent MLP sketches as well. Starting to do characters OTHER than Twist and Pinkie Pie. I really want to do all of the mane 6, I have yet to attempt to draw Rarity and Applejack yet.
If you feel weird for liking “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”, it could be a LOT worse.
(I’m an adult BTW.)
You make the cake. Have cake eaten by your best friends. Then remake said cake. You win the contest. You eat the cake in one gulp. You are now bloated as a house. No more cake. ![]()
That’s Pinkie Pie for you.

Full circle: From Japanese Schoolgirls to Pastel Colored Ponies
Then and now. 2006 a lot of my interests was tied down to Anime. I attended like 2-3 anime cons, made my first AMV, bough a dozen anime series on DVD and also “joined” my Anime club in college (which was an absolute joke). I still won’t say I’m against Anime and still yearn to watch a good series now and then, but today, Anime to me has become stagnant. It no longer drives my imagination. Too much cliche plots and premises. Much like the wasteland that is network TV in America, all they want is to appeal to the masses to make a return on investment. In Japan, the “masses” are the Otaku that eat up the merchandise and DVDs. It may make money for the producers, but in the end it doesn’t turn out to be a compelling product.
So now in 2012 a new challenger has risen from the ashes of mediocrity.
Ponies.
So, how did “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” become the “big” thing now for me?
I really don’t need to explain it to you anymore, the passion, the pride and the power of that fandom will tell you that.
So, eventually this pony fandom will wane, all things must come to an end. At least you can look back and reminisce those days.
I Heart Twist Welovefine shirt entry by =ronaldhennessy
The last of my entries and also the most simplest of all. I am not entering my Twist “Adorkable” shirt design from the season 2 contest this time (unless people beg me), I wanted something different.
I hail from New York and if you lived near NYC or visited it like I do, you might have seen those “I HEART NY” shirts everywhere. Originally, it was created to promote tourism for all of New York State in the late ’70s, but it’s tied very closely to NYC. [link]
More than any of my shirt designs, I’m pleading- NO BEGGING you to vote 5 for this design. There is not very much Twist-related shirts on welovefine and the current ones aren’t very satisfying PLEASE VOTE FOR THIS DESIGN AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS ! TWEET/BLOG/TUMBLR/PINTREST/+’d/SHARE IT.
Songs in the key of P Welovefine shirt entry by =ronaldhennessy
Here is my second Welovefine My Little Pony contest 3 entry. I figured it would be fun to see a shirt design featuring Pinkie’s “greatest hits”. Sadly, some of her verses couldn’t be included. Wanted to make sure design “pops” out.
When the contest starts on April 6th, be sure to VOTE 5 and TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS!
Real Men Wear Pink-ie Pie Shirts - WLF entry by =ronaldhennessy
This is my 1st entry for the 3rd welovefine MLP contest. I strive to create my shirts for both genders, but I felt this time I wanted to make a big statement since I’m a huge Pinkie Pie fan. I often hear the saying “Real Men Wear X”, usually pertaining to stuff like Kilts, the color Pink and even saw a shirt say “Real Men Wear (Mickey) Mouse Ears”. So, I got the ball moving with this one. Combined with what the “Discorded” Pinkie Pie said about what to “think before laughing at the Pink…ie Pie.” [link] and “Real Men Wear X” and I have myself an ideal!
Currently, I’m looking for feedback on the shirt. It would feel awkward if a woman wore it so there must be a way to make this feel “gender compatible”.
And oh, the design for Pinkie Pie was vectored up myself.
