Double Scoop - Maddie Ponified by =ronaldhennessy
I said I wouldn’t do a ponification again…I lied. You might consider this a “OC Pony”. I don’t because the using this design is not original, it is based on an existing property which doesn’t make it original. However, it is a BASED on an original character. Next time, when you create an “OC”, if you base it from an existing show, video game or something similar its not original. And that’s why the people who run the ocart group have migraines from continuing to reject Kingdom Hearts “OCs” every day.
Enough soapboxing, this pony is based on my creation, Maddie. I’d figure she would be the easiest since she is a filly and has no cutie mark. A combination of sickness and issues with the pen tool made this a lot harder to do. The end result turned out ok since I was aiming for the FIM look, but I probably could have done this faster without vectoring it up. I guess Photoshop is ill suited for a task like this.
I chose the name “Double Scoop” since the human version likes ice cream. The colors represent two things, Sherbet Ice cream (my favorite Ice Cream) and Maddie’s human color palette. She doesn’t have her cutie mark as she is still finding out what she truly is made for, but that may come one day.
More of these ponifications are on the way once I learn to get the hang of the pen tool a bit more.

It may be a physical activity, but it can also be annoying.
Tried something a little different, instead of my usual black outline, I colored it. For some reason, exclusion of the color black makes the art more light-hearted.

First artwork of 2012. This is what happens when you listen to horrible pop music. I’m not sure if Margaret here is doing to “Melbourne Shuffle” correctly, but I don’t think she cares.
Princess - Whip My Hair Back and Forth by =ronaldhennessy
I originally wanted to do this last year, but I didn’t feel that confident in my art. It would’ve probably made more sense on a pop-culture level to do it while the song was popular, but I don’t care.
Thanks to the many free paint splatter brushes out there on DA to make this look easy for the most part.
Maddie - The Human Christmas Tree by =ronaldhennessy
Continuing on my Christmas themed drawings, here is a different one…this one is actually a homage to a famous children’s book. I got some inspiration for this character through this book. Can you guess what it is?
One great thing about 5-year old human Christmas trees is that they never need watering. However, her arms can get tired and putting on ornaments, lighting and tinsel can make her quite finicky.
Margaret - Never too old to believe in Santa by =ronaldhennessy
According to quick research I did on the Internet, the average age a child stops believing in Santa Claus is around the age of 8.
Margaret is 12 years old.
Not only she believes in Santa, she also believes in the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, Aliens and various conspiracy theories out there. She has a logical reason why Santa exists.
A weird girl, but a smart one nevertheless.
UPDATE I felt Maddie’s little Ice Cream Hangover needed a little more TLC. Line art revamped and recolored. Also Added a bit more background and more Chocolate Ice Cream mess on Maddie’s Face. First version available in scraps.

The current weekly Saturday drawing is taking too longer than expected, so I’m going to throw up some quick sketches. I’m using a new process this time. Instead of outlining the whole drawing like I usually do, I digitally scanned and colored the sketch without an outline. Looks rough, yet organic.
Maddie has a…shall we say…a obsession with Ice Cream. Chocolate Ice Cream to be exact. It’s well advised to keep her away from the stuff in large quantities, like the storage room of an ice cream parlor. Once you let go of her sight, it’s too late, she’ll find a way to get in. Eventually the culprit will be red…errr brown-handed and bloated as a result.

Fourth and final in a series of four drawings featuring a ronaldhennessy Original Princess during the seasons. I started with Winter and I come full circle with Fall. Yard Work sucks, doesn’t it?
