Video 6 May

And some recent MLP sketches as well. Starting to do characters OTHER than Twist and Pinkie Pie. I really want to do all of the mane 6, I have yet to attempt to draw Rarity and Applejack yet.

Real men wear Pinkie Pie Shirts

Photo 24 Mar 1 note I Heart Twist Welovefine shirt entry by =ronaldhennessy
The last of my entries and also the most simplest of all. I am not entering my Twist “Adorkable” shirt design from the season 2 contest this time (unless people beg me), I wanted something different. I hail from New York and if you lived near NYC or visited it like I do, you might have seen those “I HEART NY” shirts everywhere. Originally, it was created to promote tourism for all of New York State in the late ’70s, but it’s tied very closely to NYC. [link]More than any of my shirt designs, I’m pleading- NO BEGGING you to vote 5 for this design. There is not very much Twist-related shirts on welovefine and the current ones aren’t very satisfying PLEASE VOTE FOR THIS DESIGN AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS ! TWEET/BLOG/TUMBLR/PINTREST/+’d/SHARE IT.

Guess what came in the mail today….

MY VERY OWN TWIST PLUSH!

I am probably the first person on the internet to have a custom Twist, which is great…and sad at the same time. Hopefully, this starts a trend.

Ayashiino from Deviant Art created this wonderful plush just for me! At the present time, she is not taking any commissions for any plush right now.

Well, what a strange trip 2011 has been. I joined the site in 2005 and was a lurker, faving stuff every now and then. At the time, I didn’t have any inkling of posting artwork. I had a lot of…um…personal issues that prevented me from doing so. Also, I didn’t really draw at all. Towards the end of the decade, I decided to start learning to draw. I primarily read about drawing around 2009-10 and started to invest in sketchbooks and eventually got me a tablet. From 09 to around late 2010, it was a time of experimentation. I had some ideas floating around in my head for awhile, so I did some original stuff every now and then. For the most part, I drew stuff on paper as I wasn’t yet warm to drawing with a tablet. Needless to say the small Intuos4 I invested gathered dust. (I was drawing in an 8x11 paper sketchbook and on a much smaller tablet. I couldn’t get used to it.) Coupled with my anxiety over doing artwork in public and no direction, I didn’t create much in 2010.Forward to 2011. I began to “reboot” my approach to drawing. I invested in things that I would actually use. I sold the intuos4 small and got me a Bamboo which was larger and suited my drawing style. I went away from using Sketchbook Pro to Photoshop CS 5 for my primary work (I still use SBP from time to time for some sketching). I also started to work on making more original characters (some which aren’t “ready” yet, see my scraps), drew a LOT in my paper sketchbooks and dabbed in some Fan Art. Speaking of fan art, as you all know, Ponies are cool these days. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is awesome and you should watch it. My date of friendship infection was in February and never looked back. I eventually met some “bronies” in the flesh this May in NYC and saw it turn from a small gathering of animation/video game nerds who happen to like cute ponies to a growing convention where the people involved in the show are now attending. My social life online and off has never been this 20% cooler. Much of my views and faves this year comes primarily from my MLP:FIM artwork. While I have a strong preference towards my own original art and wish it had a little more exposure, people are going to gravitate towards what they want for better or for worse. These are the 12 pieces of art that I feel are my best in 2011. Feel free to take a look at them and don’t be afraid to comment. After all, I’m still learning to draw.I’m just getting started.Gallery featuring all 12 artwork. [link]

I’m finishing other artwork and I also was compelled to get something done for the Equestria Daily Holiday Banner contest. Well, of course I wouldn’t do holiday art without Twist of course. After all, she is underrated pony. No I’m not bitter that she wasn’t in “Hearth’s Warming Eve”, the episode wouldn’t fit the character anyway. Do normal ponies have any business, let alone a filly of being in Canterlot aside from ponies that have the elements of harmony?Enough Soapboxing, enjoy this wonderful Twist art and have a Merry Christ—-err TWISTmas.

Pairing my absolute two favorite ponies for the first time. Combined with Pinkie’s great confectionary craft and with Twist’s peppermint candy-making magic, delicious candy cane cupcakes are possible.

VOTING HAS BEGUN. Vote 5 for this design!

I submitted this to the 2nd My Little Pony T-Shirt contest on Monday. This took longer than I thought. I made the vector myself and had to do a little changes since the original screen cap had part of her tail covered by a door. Fortunately, I took reference from a similar screen cap and “fused” the two. You may see a vector like this on some vector group, but this is really my own vector. Coincidence? I hope not.

Please, PLEASE vote for this design NOW, until NOVEMBER 13. Tell all of your friends. Do you really want another 20% cooler shirt? More lame shirts with the Impact font? Then VOTE, VOTE VOTE 5 for this design.

https://www.welovefine.com/vote.php?id_contest=5&id_submit=1712

P.S. In the event I DON’T win, I will put up the shirt for sale somewhere in the future.
